Hey there! Welcome to Accessibility Minute, your weekly look
at Assistive Technology, those clever tools and devices designed to
help people who have difficulties with vision, mobility, hearing or
other special needs!
Nike has recently unleashed the LeBron Soldier 10 FlyEase,
which is an updated, more accessible version of their FlyEase
shoes. The original FlyEase design relied on a wrap-around zipper
to fasten the shoe. It also included a larger opening at the
back of the shoe to make it easier to slide feet in and out.
The new Soldier 10 FlyEase shoes open from the heel to the
midpoint, and use a flatter zipper and Velcro straps to secure the
shoe around the foot. It looks just like the traditional
Soldier 10, but with a far more generous opening for the
foot.
