Accessibility Minute Weekly (Target Audience: General public)
Hi folks. Welcome to Accessibility Minute, your weekly look at Assisitive Technologythose clever tools and devices designed to help people who have difficulties with vision, mobility, hearing or other special needs.
For people with hearing impairments, sometimes telephone communication can be challenging. Talking with a loved one or a doctor can be a frustrating experience if your hearing loss means that you miss critical information. To help with this problem, consider a Captioned Telephone or cap tel system. This unique phone works like a regular home phone, but also provides a printed version of whats being said by the person on the other end of the phone conversationkind of like watching captioned television programs. And, in most places there is funding available that make these amazing systems free for home users.
