Hey there! Welcome to Accessibility Minute, your weekly look
at Assistive Technology, those clever tools and devices designed to
help people who have difficulties with vision, mobility, hearing or
other special needs!
Don Johnston recently released the Word Bank Universal
extension for Google Chrome. The extension puts the creation
and use of a word bank right at your fingertips. Word banks
are helpful tools that provide core vocabulary that can be used
for:
- Vocabulary development
- Spelling support
- Recalling previously learned words
- General writing support
To use the word bank while writing, simply choose from over 5
million topics and content areas. Then you can hover your mouse
over the words to listen to them out loud. You can then
select the word you'd like to use and it'll instantly add it to
your writing.
