Hi folks. Welcome to “Accessibility Minute”, your weekly look at Assisitive Technology—those clever tools and devices designed to help people who have difficulties with vision, mobility, hearing or other special needs.
Many of us are familiar with Braille because of the bumpy dots on signs, elevators or even bank machines. However, Braille represents an important tool for literacy among people who are blind or visually impaired. Although talking books and computers are great, they don't convey the same level of detail and precision that you find represented tactilely by Braille. For students, people who deal with technical information and even the casual reader, Braille is a great way for people who are blind or visually impaired to be informed, entertain and communicate with others.
