Accessibility Minute - Assistive Technology Tips and Tricks for Everyone

Jan 25, 2013

Show Notes

Hi folks. Welcome to “Accessibility Minute”, your weekly look at Assisitive Technology—those clever tools and devices designed to help people who have difficulties with vision, mobility, hearing or other special needs.

When you hire an accountant or real estate agent you want to know if they have the appropriate credentials.  Did you know that there are credentials for assistive technology?  The ATP, or Assistive Technology Professional, credential is an indicator that the person who provides your assistive technology services has experience and has demonstrated knowledge and skill.  Work history, passing an exam and keeping up to date with education are all required for ATPs to maintain their credential.  You can learn more at www.RESNA.org. Oh, and I happen to be an ATP!
