148-09-11-15 Action Trackstander
Hey there! Welcome to Accessibility Minute, your weekly look at Assistive Technology, those clever tools and devices designed to help people who have difficulties with vision, mobility, hearing or other special needs!
This past weekend, I attended the Artomobilia in Carmel, Indiana, an event designed to celebrate the art and design of the automobile. I was fascinated with every vehicle present--from a handful of DeLorean DMC-12 cars (also known as "Back to the Future cars")--to the new and rare BMW i8, there was definitely a vehicle for everyone! Among these classics and new vehicles though, something in particular caught my eye: the Action Trackstander.
The same makers of the Action Trackchair went one step further and created an all new, all-terrain wheelchair which wheelchair users can stand up in. Similar to the Trackchair, the Trackstander allows wheelchair users to navigate through beaches, woods, frozen lakes, muddy and snowy terrain, and more! But with the Trackstander, individuals are able to stand up to enjoy their favorite outdoor activities. To learn more, go to actiontrackchair.com.
