Hey there! Welcome to Accessibility Minute, your weekly
look at Assistive Technology, those clever tools and devices
designed to help people who have difficulties with vision,
mobility, hearing or other special needs!
E.A.S.Y. Tactile Graphics is a company offering
drawing solutions for individuals who are blind or visually
impaired. According to their website, employees at the
company "firmly believe that drawing is not reserved solely for the
sighted, and their mission is to bring freehand tactile
drawing into the lives of blind and visually impaired children and
adults."
The company's flagship product, inTACT Sketchpad and Eraser,
are comparable to the pencil and paper for sighted
individuals. The Sketchpad allows users to create tactile
drawings by hand. As they draw on the sketchpad, raised
lines appear on the drawing sheet, making it possible for users to
feel their drawings along the way!
