Hey there! Welcome to Accessibility Minute, your weekly look at Assistive Technology, those clever tools and devices designed to help people who have difficulties with vision, mobility, hearing or other special needs!
Looking for a way to make your computer’s display adapt to the time of day? F.lux might be just what you’re looking for! F.lux is downloadable software that adjusts the color of your computer’s display with the current time of day: making it warm at night, and like sunlight during the day.
According to CNET, it’s possible that you’re staying up too late because of your display’s brightness. The software would remove the bright blue colors from your display to help you wind down at night, and then returns your screen to normal the next day. Adjusting the display would also help reduce eyestrain.
Once you download the software, tell the program what kind of lighting you have and where you live. Then forget about it – f.lux will do the rest!
