Hey there! Welcome to Accessibility Minute, your weekly look at
Assistive Technology, those clever tools and devices designed to
help people who have difficulties with vision, mobility, hearing or
other special needs!
The Instant Pot was originally introduced in 2010. It became super popular in recent years for individuals of all ages and abilities. If you're unfamiliar with the Instant Pot, it is a "best-selling multicooker that allows users to cook meats, soups, vegetables, and more -- up to 70% faster than traditional cooking methods. While there are at least 8 models available on their website, I wanted to highlight the Instant Pot Duo Evo Plus model.
According to Instant Pot's website, this newer model is their "most" one available. It is a 10-in-1 electric pressure cooker, capable of replacing your traditional pressure cooker, rice cooker, slow cooker, steamer, sauté pan, yogurt maker, sterilizer, and food warmer.
Other features include:
A pressure cooker that boasts a large LCD display which provides
everything you need to know about cooking time, temperature,
pressure, and status
Push buttons allow you to easily select a Smart Program to suit
your needs
This particular model has 10+ proven safety mechanisms built into
it including Overheat Protection and Safety Lid Lock
And much, much more!
