Accessibility Minute - Assistive Technology Tips and Tricks for Everyone

Nov 30, 2012

Show Notes

Hi folks. Welcome to “Accessibility Minute”, your weekly look at Assisitive Technology—those clever tools and devices designed to help people who have difficulties with vision, mobility, hearing or other special needs.

For many years, a small number of businesses and people have relied on touch screens to find your way on a computerized kiosk map, to withdraw funds from an ATM or other specialized tasks.  However, in recent years, more and more computers are relying on touch screens.  Not only is pointing with your finger more intuitive than using a mouse and keyboard, it provides instant accessibility for people with some intellectual or physical disabilities.  Tablet PCs, Ipads and other devices that rely on a touch interface are becoming wildly popular and increased accessibility is a natural side effect of that trend.
