Hey there! Welcome to Accessibility Minute, your weekly look at
Assistive Technology, those clever tools, and devices designed to
help people who have difficulties with vision, mobility, hearing,
or other special needs!
Since releasing its first Echo device in 2014, Amazon has released many smart devices to help make your life simpler. A new, exciting product from the company is the Amazon Halo Band.
In sum, it is a wearable device *that can measure, track, and improve your health daily. While many fitness trackers just count steps and the wearer's weight, the Halo Band monitors your daily activities, sleep, and body.
In addition to tracking your physical health, Halo's "Tone" feature also acknowledges the importance of social wellbeing. When enabled, the Halo Band analyzes the tone of your voice throughout the day; this helps you better understand how you may sound to others.
Other features include:
It uses your smartphone camera to analyze body fat
percentage
It is nearly twice as accurate as leading at-home smart scales
Informed by guidelines from the American Heart Association, the
band measures the intensity and duration of your activity
throughout the day
And so much more
Check it out on Amazon to learn more!
