Hey there and Happy New Year to you all! Welcome to
Accessibility Minute, your weekly look at Assistive
Technology, those clever tools and devices designed to help people
who have difficulties with vision, mobility, hearing or other
special needs!
With so many AAC devices and apps already on the market, it
can be hard to decide which one is best for your particular needs.
The company, Hearty SPIN, has been helping those with speech
impairments for more than four years now, and has recently released
Visual AAC.
Visual AAC is an iPad app developed to help individuals with
speech impairment or delay to communicate their everyday needs and
thoughts effectively using picture cards and visual scene displays.
It may help individuals with:
Autism
Cerebral palsy
ALS
Aphasia
Apraxia
and more!
To learn more about visual AAC, check it out on iTunes.
